Formed in 2010, the program at Cal State Fullerton promises great success in an operationally focused environment. This school's strong on-water programs offer an opportunity to work in an action-oriented environment while developing students' leadership skills in a new unit.
We are a group of cadets interested in furthering our cadet career by being involved with the operational side of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Upon graduation, we are interested in attending Coast Guard officer candidate school, direct commission, active duty enlistment, reserve enlistment or continuing with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Students complete the training components of the program of study, while fully engaging in the operational activities of Flotilla Northern Virginia, operating on the water and at the waterfront throughout the local area and upper Potomac River.
The College of William and Mary, one of the nation's oldest colleges, is home to one of the first Coast Guard Auxiliary campus programs in the country. Graduates have gone on to distinguished Coast Guard Auxiliary service, law and graduate school, the private sector, non-profits, and active duty military.
Newly formed for Fall Semester 2010, the detachment at Virginia Tech welcomes all students, including those from the school's Corps of Cadets program. Operational and leadership education is offered to all students through a combination of Coast Guard specific courses and partnership with the Corps. | Things to KnowUniversity Programs recognizes several schools as Centers of Excellence. Each center is led by a unit officer who serves as a principle advisor and mentor to the students. Students in good academic standing at any accredited American college or university are welcome, and will work virtually with a campus officer from one of our centers. |
